The Hales Corners Health Department continues to provide resources and education to help limit the spread of COVID-19. We urge everyone to continue wearing masks while in public and to get vaccinated! The demand for COVID-19 vaccine has been decreasing in our community, our state and around the country.  This is concerning, because we are not at the level of community vaccination to reach “herd Immunity”.  Herd immunity occurs when a large portion of the community becomes immune to a disease, like COVID-19, making the spread of the illness from person to person less likely. Herd immunity also makes it more difficult for new COVID-19 variants to occur. With herd immunity, the entire community is protected from the disease-not just those who are immune.  Experts estimate that 70-80% of the population must be immune to reach herd immunity. Refer to our vaccine page to get information on how to get your COVID-19 vaccine!
