Milwaukee County Disaster Recovery Centers
On Wednesday, September 24, Milwaukee County will open two Disaster Recovery Centers. Residents are not required to go to a Disaster Recovery Center to receive FEMA assistance. These DRCs are available to individuals who need additional support or help with uploading documents, completing their application, or would like to speak one-on-one with representatives. Milwaukee County residents can visit either location for assistance. No registration is needed.

211 Damage Reports
Effective Wednesday, September 24, 2025, IMPACT 211 will no longer accept damage reports via live calls and online chat. The online form is still available for data collection, until Milwaukee County OEM makes the decision to sunset it. But, at this point in the process, any homes with flood damage should report directly to FEMA and apply for funding and assistance. If your municipality has any communication directing residents to 211 for damage reports, please remove that before September 24.
Clearing Up Incorrect Guidance
There have been some incorrect talking points being shared, with the best of intentions. But to ensure we’re all on the same page regarding FEMA funding, please note the following:
- The money is not being distributed on a first come, first served basis. Any eligible individuals in Milwaukee County whose uninsured home or property was damaged in the August floods will receive assistance if they apply.
- Regarding the reported $29.8 million in approved federal funding: This number is based on the findings from FEMA’s Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) reported in Governor Evers’ request, which was a sample to represent the total damage to the region. This does not mean that FEMA funding for individuals is capped at $29.8 million. Any individuals who are eligible for FEMA funding will receive it, even if the total amount for all individuals exceeds the reported $29.8 million.
- If you have any questions regarding the FEMA process, please reach out to FEMA to confirm before sharing any information. You can reach out to Nicole Wilson, FEMA PIO, directly at [email protected]. You can also reach out to me to answer any questions or direct them to FEMA.
